Lee Hindin’s biggest joys come from his family and community. His son is a scratch golfer as well as a champion debater, with wins in several national qualifying tournaments. His daughter is an accomplished equestrian, who has participated in multiple three-day events.
Lee is also the proud owner of three rescue dogs – Kolby, a Lab/Australian Shepherd mix; Wesley, a Lab/Foxhound mix; and Conrad, a Poodle/Havanese mix. His current hobbies consist of skiing, fly fishing, and landscape photography.
Lee is heavily involved with multiple charitable organizations, having helped to raise several million dollars for their important work. His philanthropic activities have been recognized through numerous community service awards. Past and present philanthropic commitments include:
Hand to Hand – Board of Directors. This organization’s mission is to help the homeless find housing.
Jewish Foundation for Group Homes – Board of Directors Co-Chair, 2000-2004. JFGH is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the independence, dignity, choice, and community inclusion of individuals with disabilities, regardless of faith or creed. Lee raised over $1M as Gala Chair and received awards for dedicated service.
Food For Thought – Founder. Food for Thought was a program developed through Chicken Out Rotisserie to encourage children to improve their grades. For each letter grade students improved, they received a $25 gift certificate each semester. Lee received a State Proclamation, signed by both the Governor of Maryland and the State Senate.
Do Good Foundation – Founder. Do Good Foundation was a charitable arm of Chicken Out Rotisserie, which gave a percentage of each sale to any charity that applied.
The Colby School – Board of Directors. Lee served as Co-Chair for the annual fundraising drive and gala. He also founded the scholarship program, which grew to successfully fund approximately one third of all enrollment.
